Terms of Service
Welcome to Somewhere for Two. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Somewhere for Two, a sole proprietorship based in North Carolina, United States ("we," "us," or "our"), governing your access to and use of our website and the personalized astrocartography maps and related digital products we offer (together, the "Service"). By using the Service or purchasing a product, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. What Somewhere for Two Is
Somewhere for Two creates personalized, keepsake astrocartography maps for couples and, under the name Somewhere for You, for one person. Using the birth details you provide, we produce a beautifully designed map highlighting locations associated with each partner's astrological lines, or with your own lines for a Somewhere for You reading. Our products are created for inspiration, entertainment, and delight.
How your map is made
Your map has two parts, made two different ways. The astronomy is real arithmetic. We calculate where every planet actually stood at the minute and the place each of you was born, then work out where your two sets of lines cross on the map (for a Somewhere for You reading, where your own lines fall). That comes out the same every time and it is not guesswork.
The words are written by AI. We use an AI writing tool, working from your two charts and the places the calculation returned, to draft the pages you read. We set the rules it writes by, and it cannot invent a place or a line the calculation did not produce. Every map runs through automated checks before it sends, but nobody reads yours before you do. Because it is generated automatically, a reading can contain errors or say something that does not fit you. The interpretation is not a statement of fact about either of you, and the disclaimers above and in the Disclaimers section apply to it in full. If something in yours is wrong, tell us and we will fix it as described in our Refund Policy.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to purchase or use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.
About your partner's birth details. Most of these are a surprise, and we know that. We are not asking you to go and get written permission first, because that would ruin the whole thing. What you are confirming is simpler: that you came by their birth details honestly, and that this is your partner or someone close enough to you that handing them over is a normal thing to do. Our Privacy Policy explains how either of you can ask us to delete what we hold.
In a gift order the person redeeming enters their own details, and this section applies to them at that point rather than to whoever paid.
3. Orders, Pricing, and Payment
- Prices are shown on the website and are in U.S. dollars. We may change prices at any time, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
- Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.
- Because each map is custom-made from the details you submit, it is important that the birth information you provide is accurate. We are not responsible for a map that is affected by inaccurate or incomplete information you provide.
4. What you get, and how it reaches you
Everything we sell is digital. Nothing is printed, packed or posted. There is no box.
When your keepsake is ready we email you a private link. It opens the whole thing in your browser, and there is a print button inside it that saves the keepsake as a PDF on your own computer. Please use it. That saved file is yours, it does not depend on us, and it is the copy we would want you to still have in ten years.
We will keep your link working for at least twelve months from the day we send it, and we expect to keep it up a great deal longer. Twelve months is what we are promising. If we ever have to take a link down, we will email the address on your order first.
Links are unlisted rather than locked. Anyone you forward it to can open it. Treat it like a photo you would not want passed around.
Delivery is usually fast, often within the hour, and we aim for the same day. Those are estimates, not guarantees. Please check your spam folder and add hello@somewherefortwo.com to your contacts. If it has not turned up, email us and we will get it to you.
5. Gifts
You can buy any of our maps as a gift. When you do, you are our customer and the couple who receives it are the recipients.
How it works: you pay, you tell us their two first names, and we send you a certificate with a code on it, to forward or to print. We never ask you for their birth details. They enter their own when they open it.
We do not put an expiry date on gift codes. A code works whenever they get round to it. If you cannot find yours, email us with the name and the date you bought it and we will look it up.
A code can only be used once, and anyone holding it can redeem it, so keep it to yourself until you hand it over.
Before it is redeemed, you as the buyer can cancel and get a full refund, no reason needed. Nothing has been made yet, so there is nothing to argue about. Just email us the code.
Once it is redeemed and the keepsake has been made, our Refund Policy applies in the normal way, and from that point we deal with the couple about their own map and their own details rather than with you.
6. Refunds
Our refund practices are described in our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.
If something has gone wrong with a payment, come to us first. Email hello@somewherefortwo.com and give us a few days. Almost everything is fixable and we would far rather fix it than argue about it through a bank.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on the Service, including the website design, text, graphics, logos, the "Somewhere for Two" name and mark, and the design and layout of the maps, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. When you purchase a map, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive license to use and print it for your own personal, non-commercial use (including giving it as a gift). You may not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit our products or content without our written permission.
What you give us
To make your map we need to be able to use the names, birth details and preferences you send. All of it stays yours. You are giving us permission to hold that information and use it to work out your charts, write your pages, build your keepsake, deliver it, and help you afterwards if something goes wrong. Not for anything else.
We keep a copy of the finished keepsake so we can send it again if you lose the email, and so your link keeps opening.
We may look at anonymous, added-up information about how the service gets used, such as how often a particular city turns up. That never includes your names or a word of your reading.
We do not put your names, your details or your reading anywhere public without asking you first, every time. Not in an ad, not on the site, not in an email to anyone else.
If you think something on our site or in one of our maps is yours and we should not be using it, tell us. Email hello@somewherefortwo.com with a link to it and how to reach you. We will look properly, and if we should not be using it we will take it down.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by submitting false information, infringing others' rights, attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service, or using it for any unlawful purpose.
9. When we say no
We are a very small business, and we reserve the right to turn an order down. If we do, you get every penny back, quickly, and that is the end of it.
Reasons we might: the payment does not clear or the order looks fraudulent, the details look like they belong to someone who would not want us to have them, the order or the emails around it are abusive, or you are asking for something outside what we actually do.
If you have paid for a map we have not delivered, you get your money back either way. We are not in the business of keeping money for something we did not make.
10. Disclaimers
The Service and all products are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any content is accurate or complete. As stated above, our products are for entertainment and inspiration and are not professional advice of any kind.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Somewhere for Two and its owners, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of the Service or any product. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service or a product will not exceed the amount you paid us for that product.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Somewhere for Two from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person, including your submission of another person's birth details without permission.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes become effective when we post the updated Terms with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
14. If we disagree
Email us first. Send the problem to hello@somewherefortwo.com and give us thirty days to put it right. Nearly everything we have ever been asked about was a misunderstanding or a mistake we were glad to fix.
If thirty days go by and we still disagree, either of us can go to court. Small claims is open to both of us for anything that fits there, and for a disagreement this size that is honestly the right place for it.
Any claim about the service or about something you bought has to be brought within one year of when it came up.
15. The usual housekeeping
If a court decides one part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still stands. That part gets trimmed back to whatever the law does allow, and everything else carries on.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and our Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between us about the service. Where something on another page of our site says one thing and these Terms say another, these Terms are the ones that count.
If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
You cannot hand your rights under these Terms to someone else without asking us first. We can transfer ours if the business is ever sold or reorganised, and your rights come with it.
Intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law and this section stay in force after you stop using the service.
We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by things genuinely outside our control, including outages at our hosting, payment, email or software providers, power and internet failures, natural disasters and acts of government. If something like that means we cannot deliver at all, you get a refund.
The headings are there to help you find things. They are not part of the agreement.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
If you live somewhere whose consumer protection laws give you rights you are not allowed to sign away, this section does not take them from you. You keep them, wherever we happen to be based.
